Three High-Profile Executives Elected to Counterpart’s Board of Directors

October 27, 2011 (Arlington, VA) — Two leaders in communications and an expert in integrated audits have been elected to the Board of Directors of Counterpart International, the non-profit dedicated to sustainable global development. counterpart17.wpengine.com.

Marcia Silverman, who recently retired as Global CEO of Ogilvy PR, Judith H. Whittlesey, Executive Vice President of Susan Davis International, and Jennifer Rose, Corporate Controller of Summit Materials, were unanimously elected to three-year terms. They reside in the Washington, D.C. area.

Marcia Silverman, who (in addition to having served as Global CEO of Ogilvy PR) was previously the President of the Americas for Ogilvy PR, has been described by PR Week as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in PR” and one of the “100 Most Influential PR Professionals” of the 20th century. Silverman was awarded both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She was awarded with the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious Paladin Award in 2010.

Judith H. Whittlesey is the Executive Vice President of Susan Davis International, a communications, government relations and public affairs firm in Washington, D.C. She has served on numerous non-profit boards and has more than 20 years of broad-based experience in strategic planning, media relations and institutional positioning for non-profit organizations, as well as issue, cause and political campaigns at the national, state and grassroots levels. She was inducted into the National Capital Public Relations Society of America’s Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jennifer Rose brings an extensive background in integrated audits, including financial reporting and compliance in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Security and Exchange Commission rules and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards. She is a CPA with over 10 years of experience leading audits for government contractors in the D.C. area for KPMG and Booz Allen Hamilton. Rose also sits on the board of the non-profit organization, Our Daily Bread.

Rose, Silverman and Whittlesey join Counterpart’s existing Board members: Chairman Jeffrey T. LaRiche; Deborah Nolan, Partner at Ernst and Young; Les Wallace, President of Signature Resources; Brenda Broz Eddy, Vice President of Eddy Associates; Thomas Lovejoy, Heinz Center Biodiversity Chair; and David Wickline, founder and Managing Partner of the San Francisco based Alchemy Ventures Group.
