Food Systems

Resilient food systems for healthy communities

We help communities identify and address the full spectrum of issues affecting food security and community health to end hunger and promote well-being for all.

Food Security

Taking a systems approach to reduce hunger

Counterpart supports locally led efforts to reduce food insecurity and malnutrition by increasing availability and access to food, improving food use, and building a resilient, adaptive, and inclusive enabling environment that promotes household well-being and food security.

Implementing around the world

Collaborating with partners in diverse contexts

From arid areas in Africa to the mountain highlands of Latin America, we take a systems approach to end malnutrition and build resiliency

What we're doing

Feeding school children and supporting smallholder farmers

We partner with smallholder farmers to increase yields and incomes through climate smart production practices, access to improved inputs, and links to more lucrative market opportunities. We promote improved health, sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition to ensure households enjoy diverse diets that are balanced and rich in micronutrients. Working closely with communities, we address challenges that affect food availability and access, including governance of local structures, conflict mitigation, disaster risk management, and better integration of vulnerable groups.
