Tatyana Venegas Swanson is Counterpart’s Director of Working to Strengthen Inclusion in El Salvador. She is also one of Counterpart’s technical experts in organizational capacity development. She is a bilingual (Spanish, English) international development management professional focused on civil society strengthening, as well as governance, WASH, and the environment. Her experience includes over 15 years of project management and over 12 years in capacity strengthening, and extensive work with indigenous communities, civil society organizations, local government, and marginalized, under-represented populations and/or people in vulnerable situations in Latin America, East Africa, and South Asia. A native of California, Swanson began her career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bolivia, supporting indigenous communities’ ability to access water, sanitation, and hygiene services and facilities.
