Kourtney Pompi

Senior Director, Governance

Kourtney Pompi is Counterpart’s Senior Director of Governance. She brings more than 24 years of international development experience in over 50 countries to the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects that provide citizens with the tools and information needed for them to actively engage their government and press for fundamental freedoms, as well as greater transparency and accountability. She is co-chair of the Society for International Development’s Democracy, Rights, and Governance Workgroup. Pompi previously served as the Director of Civic Engagement at Counterpart.

She has significant experience in program management and design with technical skills in the following areas: citizen engagement, electoral participation, community empowerment, peace building, social cohesion, thinking and working politically, and inclusive development programming.

Previously, she held staff positions or consultancies with Camris International, Creative Associates, Democracy International, International Organization for Migration, International Republican Institute, National Democratic Institute, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
