JoEllen McGann

Senior Director, Resilient Food Systems

JoEllen McGann is Counterpart’s Senior Director of the Resilient Food Systems Practice Area. Experienced in the design, management, and implementation of development programs in Sub-Saharan Africa, she specializes in designing appropriate activities to integrate key stakeholders in driving program objectives. Her program experience includes managing programs in the following sectors: economic and livelihood development, small business development and entrepreneurship, governance, and reconstruction. As a strong program manager, McGann ensures program and organizational compliance with donor regulations, including U.S. government, The Global Fund, as well as other donor agencies.

She also works closely with private sector firms to design and implement community-focused corporate social responsibility programs and facilitate the design of new products aimed at improving opportunities for vulnerable populations. McGann previously served as Senior Director of Food Security & Agriculture at ACDI/VOCA for seven years after serving as Country Program Director in Benin for Partners for Development. She previously served in program management roles for Catholic Relief Services, International Foundation for Education and Self-Help, and International Rescue Committee. McGann served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin for two years.
