James Kongnyui Njong serves as Chief of Party for Counterpart International’s programs in Benin, where he leads efforts to strengthen school feeding systems and support community-based development. He works closely with local partners and institutions to ensure programs are delivered effectively and contribute to long-term, sustainable outcomes.

With more than 24 years of experience, James brings deep expertise in program design, implementation, and management across West and Central Africa. He has led USDA McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition programs in multiple countries and has extensive experience in program management, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning, as well as compliance, budgeting, and procurement. His work spans behavior change, livelihoods, and community development, with a strong focus on building local capacity and delivering results.

James has managed programs in Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Togo, The Gambia, and the Central African Republic, bringing a regional perspective to program leadership and implementation.
