Asdrubal Negrete serves as Chief of Party for Counterpart International’s programs in Colombia, where he leads efforts to expand economic opportunity and strengthen inclusive market systems. He works with financial institutions, businesses, and communities to increase access to finance and support sustainable livelihoods.

With more than 30 years of experience, Asdrubal is an expert in economic growth, end-to-end digital solutions and financial inclusion, with a focus on strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises. He has led large-scale initiatives that mobilize capital, expand access to financial services, and drive business development in rural and underserved communities, often in complex and conflict-affected environments.

Previously, Asdrubal led USAID’s Rural Finance Initiative, mobilizing more than $1.4 billion in financial services for over one million rural clients, half of whom were women. Most recently, he led USAID’s Invest for Climate initiative, advancing financing solutions that support climate adaptation, reduce emissions, and promote sustainable economic growth.
