Desire Yameogo serves as regional director for Counterpart International’s Sahel portfolio and Chief of Party in Mauritania, where he leads programs that strengthen school feeding systems and expand access to education. He works across the region to ensure programs are delivered effectively while supporting governments and communities to build sustainable, locally led solutions.

With more than 25 years of experience, Desire brings deep expertise in program design, implementation, and leadership across West and Central Africa. He has managed large-scale initiatives funded by USDA, USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and the World Bank, with a focus on education and Food for Education programs. His work combines technical leadership with operational oversight to deliver measurable impact at scale.

Desire has served as Chief of Party in Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cameroon, and Mali. Having benefited from school feeding programs as a child, he brings a personal commitment to expanding opportunity for the next generation.
