William Hammink is a retired career minister in the U.S. Senior Foreign Service who has 36 years of experience working with the U.S. Agency for International Development, including as USAID mission director in Afghanistan, India, Sudan and Ethiopia, and assistant to the administrator for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Hammink and his wife, Marie-Eve, served in nine countries with USAID, including Afghanistan, India, Sudan, Ethiopia, Russia, West Bank/Gaza, Madagascar, Senegal, and Swaziland. Hammink also served as the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative country director for Libya and Tunisia, based in Tunis, Tunisia, from May 2018 to May 2019.  He has two married children and three grandchildren.
