Marlig Desirée Pérez Marte has 18 years of practice in environmental law and project management specialist with emphasis on environmental management, environmental education, protected areas, biodiversity, biotechnology safety, ecotourism and governance, which has allowed her to accumulate vast experience in the development of technical-legal instruments. She has been working at Counterpart for the past six years as Project Director working with projects related to Coastal Resiliency, Protected Areas management, Biodiversity conservation, Environmental education (hands on science or Citizen Scientist) and community development (livelihoods). Now, she is also Chief of Party for the Integrated Marine Ecosystem Management (IMEM), a binational program supported by the United States Government through USAID, developed in the northern area of La Hispaniola.
