Humanitarian Assistance
Working with local government authorities and local non-government organizations, Counterpart International (Counterpart) equipped people in Kazakhstan with over $60 million worth of materials from 1996 to 2004. Counterpart targeted rural hospitals and clinics, hospice care centers, homes for the elderly, orphanages and social welfare organizations. Food, clothing, medical and dental supplies and sleeping bags, sent by US donors, helped provide a social safety net for the new Republic.
