Disaster Response

Counterpart International's (Counterpart) CHAP program responds to natural disasters and emergencies in countries where Counterpart maintains a permanent physical presence.

As such, Counterpart is often the first responder in such situations. In addition to providing needed humanitarian items, such as clothing, tents, blankets, food and medical supplies, CHAP provides emergency and rescue equipment and training to emergency response personnel.
 
CHAP operations allow for an immediate response when disasters occur. We send materials and supplies from CHAP warehouses or divert them from existing projects to meet emergencies. Counterpart's refined acquisition and transportation system allows us to identify, acquire, transport and distribute appropriate emergency assistance quickly to where it is needed.
