Tracking the Life of a Donation with CHAPBASE

In collaboration with local partners Counterpart International's (Counterpart) CHAP program helps communities identify their needs and assets. Then, using CHAPBASE—a state-of-the-art logistics database—CHAP procures humanitarian supplies donated by governments, corporations, charitable organizations and individuals. Counterpart transports and delivers them to their destinations quickly, cost-efficiently and securely. Counterpart's in-country teams distribute the supplies and prepare follow-up reports that track the "life of a donation."

For over a decade, since 1994, CHAP's proprietary database management system, CHAPBASE, has revolutionized the way Counterpart manages its humanitarian assistance activities. Using this system, Counterpart has the unparalleled ability to efficiently select appropriate recipients, assess their needs, match needs with available commodities, track every item from the donor to the end-user, monitor end-beneficiary use and submit reports to the donors. As a result, the database has become a critical part of CHAP's day-to-day business, allowing CHAP to more efficiently and accurately complete their work.
