Analytical Foundations Assessment for the Agricultural Sector in Georgia

What We Do

Counterpart International is leading an in-depth assessment of the Republic of Georgia’s agricultural sector, providing the analytical foundations to USAID Georgia for the preparation of the mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). 

Undertaken by expert Counterpart agriculture sector staff and consultants over the period of three months, the activity conducted fact-finding, analysis, interpretation and provided actionable recommendations for strategic interventions for USAID’s support to Georgia’s agricultural sector in the coming five years. In this, the activity produced a comprehensive strategic assessment, constructed a vision for the future of the agricultural sector, and assembled an authoritative knowledge base.

Part of Administrator Shah’s new USAID Forward initiative, this important analytical foundations assessment - and Counterpart’s role in leading the project - will have important implications for USAID Georgia’s policy and planning initiatives in the agricultural sector over the coming five years.
