Logistics (Commodity Distribution Management System)
Counterpart International works with reliable commercial international shippers to transport commodities expeditiously and securely from the point of origin to the final destination. Once the commodities have arrived at the port or point of entry, Counterpart’s in-country representatives conduct customs clearance or assist distribution partners throughout the customs clearing process. In countries where Counterpart does not have physical presence, Counterpart’s Headquarters office, with the support of freightforwarders and delivery agents, provides the distribution partner with procedural guidance for customs clearing.
The creation of a state of the art, proprietary logistics database, CHAPBASE, provides Counterpart an unmatched tool for tracking essential information for the successful implementation of its programs. Counterpart is able to maintain excellent reporting and tracking of its humanitarian assistance activities through the use of CHAPBASE, which has revolutionized the management of humanitarian assistance activity by matching needs with available commodities, tracking every item from the donor to the end-user, monitoring beneficiary use and producing reports.
CHAPBASE enables Counterpart staff worldwide to obtain statistics as well as determine the exact status of all projects, shipments and distributions. An in-house initiative, this is the only known database of its kind. At present, Counterpart utilizes the CHAPBASE to tracking the transportation of more than 450 containers of humanitarian aid annually.
