Sandra Taylor

Sandra Taylor has been a member of Counterpart International's (Counterpart) board since 2008.

 

Sandra Taylor is President and CEO of Sustainable Business International LLC, a consulting business she launched in 2008 which assists global companies at various stages of CSR practice and implementation with innovative approaches to CSR strategy, including supply chain sustainability, strategic philanthropy, stakeholder engagement and partnerships for social investments and sustainable development.

Previously she was senior vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with Starbucks Coffee Company in Seattle, Washington where she led the strategic development and day-to-day direction of all CSR programs including community affairs, the Starbucks Foundation, support for disaster relief; development of responsible and sustainable standards for business practices and product procurement; management of programs to reduce the environmental impact of business operations; public policy and government relations; and publication of the company's award winning CSR annual report. She also led social investment programs and public/private partnerships for education, health, income generation, skills training and access to water in Central America, India and Africa. 

From 1996 until 2003, Taylor served as Vice President and Director of Public Affairs for Eastman Kodak Company.  As a corporate officer, she had overall responsibility for public affairs, international trade policy and corporate citizenship worldwide. Additionally, Taylor has held several senior leadership positions at top-tier organizations: Vice President Public Affairs for ICI Americas Inc., the American branch of Imperial Chemical Industries Plc., a London based chemical company and was a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate focusing on international trade policy and legislation. She also worked as a Foreign Service officer for the United States Department of State.

Taylor joined the board of directors of Capella Education Company (Minneapolis) in 2006; and is a member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide. She also sits on many non- profit boards including Intiman Theatre of Seattle, Counterpart International and the Women's Leadership Board of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  She is a Corporate Ambassador for Vital Voices Global Partnership. In April 2009 she was selected as a Fellow for Aspen Institute's First Mover Fellowship; and is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy. Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts in French from Colorado Women's College and her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.
